YouTube Play
in 2010-11 I was a curatorial associate at the Guggenheim Museum in New York, working on YouTube Play - a biennial executed in collaboration with Google to find the world's most creative videos.
The jury included Takashi Murakami, Ryan McGinley, Laurie Anderson, Darren Aronofsky, Animal Collective, Marilyn Minter, Douglas Gordon, Shirin Neshat, Stefan Sagmeister, and Apichatpong Weerasethakul.
The 25 top videos, sourced from 23.000 submissions, comprise the ultimate YouTube playlist: a selection of the most unique, innovative, groundbreaking video work being created and distributed online during the past two years. Included in the top videos are, among others, Die Antwoord's Zef Side, Eun Ha-Paek's Helium and Strindberg at the Beach, Lindsay Scoggins' Wonderland Mafia, and Steve Scott and Will Sweeney's music video for Birdy Nam Nam's The Parachute Endings.
