SERIOUS FASHION INSPIRATION: MICKEY ROURKE 2.0

I know I've been a bit obsessive about Mickey Rourke lately, but it's my opinion that his new sense of fashion needs serious attention.

SPOKANE, Wash. — The mysterious mewing in Vickie Mendenhall's home started about the time she bought a used couch for $27. After days of searching for the source of the noise, she found a very hungry calico cat living in her sofa.
Her boyfriend, Chris Lund, was watching TV on Tuesday night and felt something move inside the couch. He pulled it away from the wall, lifted it up and there was the cat, which apparently crawled through a small hole on the underside.
Mendenhall contacted Value Village, where she bought the couch, but the store had no information on who donated it. So she took the cat to SpokAnimal CARE, the animal shelter where she works, so it could recover, and contacted media outlets in hopes of finding the owner.
Sure enough, Bob Killion of Spokane showed up to claim the cat on Thursday after an acquaintance alerted him to a TV story about it. Killion had donated a couch on Feb. 19, and his 9-year-old cat, Callie, disappeared at about the same time.

Norwegian TV at its finest... The "Americanization of Norway", visualized by the Norwegian traditional dance "Halling" (The dance is traditionally a way for young men to show off) where a hat is kicked off a stick, only this one has a burger on it. Note: this is not public access TV, this is one of the big corp. Scandinavian TV channels.

Save the date! NEW EXHIBITION COMING UP AT DISPATCH. OPENING ON FRIDAY APRIL 3.
Free Association, No Input Books, Slow and Steady Wins the Race, and Jason KakoyiannisX XXXXX XXX XXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXX
Dispatch is pleased to present Indian Ocean, a group show examining the nature of XXXXXX as a productive means of creation, dissemination, and reevaluation. The exhibition features new works by Free Association, No Input Books, Slow and Steady Wins the Race, and Jason Kakoyiannis.
In its most basic form, XXXXXX elicits a fear of systemic economic disruption. XXXXXXXXXXXXX, XXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXX, designer XXXXXXXXXX, and XXXXXXXX all threaten to collapse the structure of free-market enterprise through parasitic stress as the XXXX grafts itself to the history of the authentic and burrows its way into the marketplace by offering the same (or similar) for XXXX. The artists featured in Indian Ocean, however, look beyond the financial implications of XXXXXX in an effort to reveal the ways in which its stimulating effect far outweighs its fiscal burden.
No Input has produced a series of hard drives filled with impeccably indexed histories of art in the form of digitized film, music, text, and other rare art historical documents. These files, archived and repackaged, have an academic quality in their offer of art for study rather than for exclusivity. Additionally, Mary Ping continues her meditation on the essence of the XXXXX-XXX through Slow and Steady Wins the Race with a series of bags that dangle from the precipice of originality, blurring the space between XXXXXXXXXX and inspired originality. Her XXXXXXXXXX narcissistically cannibalize themselves in an extreme act of self-consciousness.
The press release produced by Free Association, physically identical to the original produced by Dispatch, questions curatorial authority in an attempt to reengage the viewer with the artwork. The mere act of creating a second explanation of the exhibition prevents any viewer from mistaking the gallery's statement as a singular and authoritative interpretation and projects a parallel pseudo-gallery on the physical space. Finally, Jason Kakoyiannis's A tool for duplicating fragrances resurrects XXXXXXX scents in an act of XXXXXX reconnaissance. The entire process calls to mind the alchemical notion of solve et coagula, a metaphysical act at once destructive and creative.

LOtUSFLOW3R is the 25th studio album by Prince. This album is one of a three album set, along with MPLSoUND and Elixer, an album by Bria Valente, his protegée. The three albums will be sold exclusively in the US at Target stores as a 3-disc set, but in Europe from more online music stores. This is the first track, and I have to agree, there will never be anyone else like Prince. Other tracks include great titles like "4Ever", "$" and "Feel Good, Feel Better, Feel Wonderful".
Below is a track from the protege Bria Valente, entitled "2Nite". And below that is one of Prince's three appearances on the Tonight Show, in case you missed it. I didn't miss any of them. Prince is too cool for school.
PS. Cover art is The Best. I wish I made art like that.
Update: All the videos are taken down. I kind of knew that this would happen, as Prince is very protective of his online presence.. Well.

....He's all over the place! His paintings go for around $180 at auctions. Damn. I wish I made that much money on my "art". Visit his website here. Or become his friend on Facebook and Myspace..!
